Great Britain figures cover England, Scotland and Wales. Sources covering the whole UK also include Northern Ireland, so the totals may differ.

About the electricity data
Check which area a figure covers, when it applies and what it measures before comparing it with another figure.
Check the date and units
A reading may describe a moment or an average over a period. Check its date, time and units; an older reading does not describe conditions now.
Missing and estimated readings
An estimate is not a measurement. A partial total may leave out some sources, and a missing value is unknown rather than zero. Older readings may no longer describe current conditions.
Capacity is not current output
Installed capacity is a station’s rated power, usually given in megawatts (MW). Its actual output can be lower or zero. A station’s location on a map does not tell you whether it is generating.
