About the service
EnergyStatus provides information about electricity systems and generation. It is not an electricity supplier, network operator or emergency service. These terms cover use of the public website, not a paid subscription or a separate data-supply agreement.
Please read these terms before using the site. Questions about them can be sent to hello@energystatus.app.
Understanding the data
The website is for general information. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for financial, trading, engineering, safety or electricity-supply decisions. Check the original source and seek appropriate professional advice where needed.
Figures may be delayed, revised, estimated, incomplete or unavailable. Check the source, date, units and qualifications shown alongside them. A missing reading does not mean zero, and installed generating capacity does not mean current output.
Great Britain means England, Scotland and Wales. A figure labelled GB does not include Northern Ireland unless the page explicitly says otherwise. Our methodology explains how to interpret the information.
We aim to present information accurately, but do not promise that every figure is complete, current or free from errors. Please report a suspected error with the page address and the figure concerned.
Sources, licences and reuse
Third-party data, maps and other material remain subject to their original rights and licence conditions. Follow the attribution and source links shown with the material before reusing it. Publication on EnergyStatus is not a blanket licence to copy or redistribute every dataset.
Nothing in these terms removes rights granted by an original source licence, including an applicable open-data licence, or rights you have under the law. Preserve required credits, dates and qualifications when reusing material.
The website's own text, design and software are also subject to applicable intellectual-property rights. Contact us about permissions that are not already covered by a stated licence. Being able to view data does not itself create a right to a supported API, bulk export or continuous data feed.
Responsible use
Do not use the site unlawfully, introduce malicious code, try to gain unauthorised access, bypass access controls or deliberately overload or disrupt the service. Do not misrepresent EnergyStatus or a data provider as endorsing you or your work.
We may restrict requests that threaten the service's security or availability. These rules do not prohibit uses permitted by law or by the relevant source licence.
Availability and external links
Pages and features may be changed or temporarily unavailable while faults are resolved or the service is maintained. We do not promise uninterrupted access or a particular update frequency unless it is explicitly stated for the relevant data.
Links to external websites help identify sources and further information. We do not control those websites or their availability, content or privacy practices.
Responsibility and your legal rights
The limitations described above explain the intended use of the service; they do not remove rights you have under applicable law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights are not affected.
